The Butterfly Project

In an effort to show solidarity with our immigrant and refugee neighbors, The Linden Hills Neighborhood Council (LHiNC) invites neighbors to display the symbol of the monarch butterfly visibly and proudly from their homes. Monarch butterflies make a long and difficult migration between Southern Mexico and Northern United States and Canada and represent the resilience, hope, and beauty of the journey migrants take.

There are three ways to participate in this neighborhood initiative:

  1. Purchase a yard sign ($15) or poster ($5)

    a. pickup will take place at the Linden Hills Recreation Center starting late next week

    b. a portion of proceeds will go to Unidos MN

  2. Head to Heartfelt to make your own painted Monarch butterfly craft, stop by any day between 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. while supplies last, sponsored by LHiNC.

  3. Get crafty and print off or make your own butterfly at home! Download some free butterfly designs here.

Thank you Liam McMonagle for creating the butterfly designs used in this project.
