Linden Hills History

Linden Hills residents value their historic community. This history has been well-documented by a fabulous group of volunteers that wrote Down at the Lake. This historical book is available for sale at local Linden Hills retailers, including our local Co-op, Bayers Hardware, Garden Sampler, and Wimmer's Yardware and online at www.bibelotshops.com.

The neighborhood History Study Group that wrote Down at the Lake has also recorded hours of conversations with historians that document the life of Linden Hills. You can check these audio recordings through the Minneapolis Public Library.

Learn more about our neighborhood by going on a walking tour using one of our guides. There are four walking tours: Commercial District, Lake Calhoun/Cottage City, Queen Avenue/Linden Hills Boulevard and Lake Harriet.
